Nations are not built on hate

What happened yesterday in Srinagar and Mumbai has hurt me. I was not present there physically so no harm came to me physically. But I felt as though the blasts have ripped through my entire existence, the body and the soul. All my countrymen and people outside India, who believe in love, must have felt the same. With hurt I am also feeling ashamed that those who killed innocent people are human beings like me.

Hate is ungodly. God wishes all his children to love each other. He does not sanction hate. Any human being indulging in hate is committing a crime against God and His will. What these killers of humanity have achieved? If they think that they have done what their God wished them to do and will be pleased by their act then they are mistaken. No God will be pleased with those who kill His children. If there is such a god who is pleased by these killings then he is not a god but Shaitan.

If they think that they have served their co-religionists here, in J&K or in their own nation then again they are mistaken, as nations are not built on hate. We know it. We have seen it. They built their nation on hate by carving out a portion of united India and the result is there for everybody to see. Day and night, they are only thinking of how to harm India, and for this purpose they spend lot of their energy and resources which could have been used for building up their nation. Their primary duty is for the well-being of their people but this hate has blunt their thinking and today they can not think anything other than hate, hate and hate.

They say that they are Muslims and are carrying out the work of Islam. They have become so blind that they do not see that long back they have ceased to be Muslims. A Muslim, by the will of Allah, is required to love and not hate. How can a Muslim claim that he is a Muslim, as he believes in Allah and then go out kill Allah’s children?

Today, by their hate-acts they have given a bad name to their co-religionists all over the world. People of other faiths see every Muslim as a terrorist, look at Islam as a religion of violence, a curse on humanity and a potential destroyer of all human beings. This is what these killers have achieved and will continue to achieve for themselves, their religion and their nation. Hate only destroys. To build there is only love.

I ask every Muslim to rise against these killers and warn them not to use the name of Islam or Allah in their hate-acts. Muslim communities all over the world should declare these killers as children of shaitan.

Of course it hurts. It hurts more when Indian politicians starts giving statements in favour of banned terrorist organizations.

Mumbai police is investigating LeT and SIMI connection in Mumbai blasts. But Mulayam Singh has alaready started defending SIMI. He has gone on record that there are no activities of SIMI in UP. By doing so he has put himself on the otherside of terrorism, the side where terrorists get suppoort, shelter and logistics.

The only ugly note on a day of anguish here was struck by Pakistan's visiting foreign minister Khurshid Kasuri, why cynically suggested in a wire service interview that the blasts showed that Pakistan and India need to resolve disputes that can be exploited by extremists. He said -
''I think the Mumbai incident — however tragic it may be and it is undoubtedly very tragic — underlines the need for the two countries to work together to control this environment, but they can only do so if they resolve their disputes,'' Kasuri said in a vulgar reprise of his military leader Pervez Musharraf's threat some time back that if India did not address the Kashmir issue, Pakistan had ''other options.''

It is in bad taste no doubt but I don't blame Kasuri and Musharraf who are doing what a nation built on hate will do. Pakistan was built on hate. Hate destroys everything. Pakistan is doing exactly the same.

I blame Indian politicians for their cowardice or is it a desire to prove themselves before the world. Their prime duty is to protect integrity of the nation and lives and property of its citizens. It is not their duty to please other naions on the dead bodies of Indian people.

Indian government should ruthlessly take any necessary action to demolish any terror network inside or outside India. It should adopt a policy of zero tolerance on terrorism. Any terrorist attack on Indian soil should be paid back in its own coin. To hell with the world and to hell with its leaders who only offer lip service and advise India to keep restrain.

Who are these nations which Indian government is trying to please? One of them is USA. Now see its double standards. US President calls up Indian PM, Manmohan Singh to express his sympathy with the victims of the Mumbai blasts. He does not say anything about the tourists and other innocent people killed in Srinager blasts. He does not condemn and warn the terrorists and their sponsors, supporters and logistics providers.

His ambassador in India, David Mulford, chose to see a connection between the Mumbai attacks and Kashmir. The same thing was said by Pakistan foreign minister Kasuri. Look what this David fellow said – “Obviously there are linkages there. We all know that. But at this point, I think it is a little early to be precise as to who did what in these attacks and I think that’s also an issue for the Indian government to explore”. Is he justifying the attacks in reference to Kashmir and in some way holding Indian government responsible for the attacks. UNSC statement issued on Wednesday, July 13, 2006, puts US ambassador to India, David Mulford, on the side of terrorism. Shame to US government.

Why can’t GOI say to USA, “Go to hell” and take ruthlessly any necessary action to demolish the terror networks in India and outside. Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh, to prove their worth, should take some action. The blame of killings of Indian citizens go squarely to them.

You are right that nations are not built on hate. In fact nothing can be built on hate. Politicians try to build their governments on hate. They ask voters to cast a (negative) vote for them because the opposite party did not do anything for them. They justify their own failure saying that previous government also failed. They give numbers to people killed in riots, in police firing, who committed suicide, and claim that such numbers in their rule are less than those in earlier rule.

They tell Muslims that the other party hates them. They tell dalits that the other party has made their life miserable. They create division on hate and nurture the divisions on hate. The result is there for all to see. A divided society. People killing each other on the slight pretext.

You are right that nations are not built on hate. In fact nothig can be built up on hate. Hate can only destroy. History is a witness that all destructions were caused by hate.
