The perpetrators, organizers, financiers, sponsors and supporters of terrorism ……..

Terrorism hurts everybody, physically, emotionally, financially. It hurts more when fellow human beings become financiers, sponsors and supporters of terrorism.

Pakistan - Kasuri was not able to hide his happiness when he linked terrorist attacks in Mumbai to Kashmir dispute. Later he backed off from linking terrorist attacks to Kashmir dispute in the background of UNSC directive to member states to cooperate in combating terrorism and universal condemnation of attacks. In a presidential statement issued by UNSC underlined the need to bring the perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of terrorism to justice, and urged all states, in accordance with their obligations under international law and various UN resolutions to cooperate actively with the Indian authorities in this regard. The statement said – “The Security Council reaffirms that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the more serious threats to international peace and security, and that any acts of terrorism are criminals and unjustifiable, regardless of their motives, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed”.

USA - David Mulford, US ambassador to India, chose to see a connection between the Mumbai attacks and Kashmir. The same thing was said by Pakistan foreign minister Kasuri. Look what this David fellow said – “Obviously there are linkages there. We all know that. But at this point, I think it is a little early to be precise as to who did what in these attacks and I think that’s also an issue for the Indian government to explore”. Is he justifying the attacks in reference to Kashmir and in some way holding Indian government responsible for the attacks. UNSC statement issued on Wednesday, July 13, 2006, puts US ambassador to India, David Mulford, on the side of terrorism. Shame to US government.

Mulayam Singh Yadav – Turning a blind eye to the central government directive to clamp down on SIMI because of its suspected involvement in the Mumbai massacre, this man chose to give a virtual clean chit to the banned extremist outfit. He has also cleared SIMI in two terrorist attacks in UP where he is the Chief Minister.

Shivpal Singh – Mulayam’s younger brother said – “SIMI is not a terrorist organization”.

I am hurt when Indian government speaks as a coward ……

Anand Sharma, India’s minister of state for external affairs suggests that India would prefer to wait and watch how the situation develops. What development he is expecting – more terrorist attacks, more innocent people killed? He also said that government would defeat those working against India. How he proposes to do that? Has his government no duty to protect the lives and property of Indian citizens?

Look what he says – “As far as we are concerned, our response would be mature, measured and firm”. Who are “we’ here, the congress, the government or who? And what does he mean by ‘mature’, ‘measured’ and ‘firm’? This is not what Indian people expect from their government. Only a coward will speak like that over the dead bodies of many innocent citizens, whose security was the top most duty of this government. The terrorist have killed the innocent citizens but the responsibility of loss of so many innocent lives goes to Indian government, which claims that it is for aam aadmi.

Prime minister takes three days to visit Mumbai. He has no plans to visit Srinagar. What sort of leaders we have? If they are so afraid then why don't they get out of the job of governance of the he nation?

As per newspaper reports PM has warned Pakistan : Stop terror or else... He said "terror modules are instigated, inspired and supported by elements across the border, withou which they can not act with such devastating effect".

It is an uncharacteristically tough stand. I hope that it has come out of his changed conviction and not just to prove a point in view of rising public anger against Pakistan. People of India are very much annoyed with Musharraf regime and PM should now be guided by the will of the people and not petty vote bank politics. Some hard visible actions are now needed.

Mulayam Singh Yadav and his brother have sure crossed over to the other side. Their communal vote-bank politics may prove very costly for the country. Banned SIMI is operating under new names. Central intelligence agencies are worried at his government's reluctance to crack down on SIMI despite the security threat it poses. Rather he has pleaded the case of this anti-India organization. He is even mulling withdrawal of the cases against its key office bearer who recently came overground after absconding for many years.

How to deal with such a person? I believe that he should be treated like a terrorist. His government should be immediately dismissed.

MUSLIM RELIGIOUS LEADERS SHOULD ISSUE FATWAS

I have always been of this belief that Muslim clerics should issue fatwas declaring these terrorists as enemies of Allah and Islam, as they are killing innocent people in the name of Allah and Islam. Islam is a religion of universal brotherhood and Allah is all love and compassion and all are His children.

The latest disturbing news is that local Muslims are joining these terrorist cadres against their own countrymen. It is therefore essential for these clerics to come out in open and issue fatwas prohibiting Muslims to directly or indirectly support the terrorists and their attacks.

VOTEBANK POLITICS COMES TO SIMI’s RESCUE

UP CM Mulayam Singh is providing strength to SIMI to become a potential force to influence coming elections in UP. He has already given a clean chit to SIMI by playing down its involvement in the terror attacks on Mumbai, and initiated process to seek withdrawal of criminal cases against SIMI National president and cases of rioting against SIMI state chief.

The other potential supporter of SIMI is UP Congress president Salman Khursheed who defended SIMI in court of law when central government imposed a ban on SIMI. These two great secular leaders and their secular parties of India are now in competition to beg for Muslim votes. This is one side of terrorism which secular politicians are encouraging against the innocent people of India.

Some ministers in UPA government are already trying to create a divide between Hindus and Muslims and cause communal hatred between them. In recent deliberations in the Union Cabinet one minister had, quoting a retired HC Judge, accusing RSS of stage-managing the attack on its Nagpur headquarters. Fortunately RSS, instead of getting incited, has asked the support of ‘patriotic Muslims’ in defeating terror on Indian soil. As per RSS, there is a large section of patriotic Muslims who want to give a befitting united political response to the source of terror Pakistan.

But who will stop Mulayam, Salman and their likes who are always willing to go the side of terrorists for Muslim votes?

Reproduced below is a copy of e-mail I received:

"At a time when Mumbai police are on the lookout for the Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) members for their suspected role in Tuesday's serial blasts, the Mulayam Singh Yadav government is contemplating withdrawing the cases against them and setting them free.

A home department official is understood to have written a letter to Kanpur police asking for possible implications of withdrawing cases against 16 SIMI members facing various charges, "in public interest".

All the 16, including SIMI's Uttar Pradesh chief Mohammed Amir, were involved in Kanpur riots in 2001 in which a government official on riot-control duty was also killed. That the UP government is taking no cognizance of SIMI's involvement in Mumbai serial blasts should not surprise anyone.

Mohammed Amir had told a newspaper that he surfaced in Kanpur after remaining underground for five years because he found that the atmosphere was now congenial for his surrender. Amir surrendered before a Kanpur court on April 25 last.

He expected UP government to withdraw the case of rioting filed against him by the Bajaria police and the government is only coming up to his expectations. Amir, incidentally, is also the main accused in the pressure cooker bomb blasts of Kanpur.

Amir has openly admitted that SIMI members draw inspiration from terror mastermind Osama bin Laden who, according to him, is not a terrorist. Arraigned as he is by a section of Muslims, one shouldn't be taken aback by the softening of Mulayam government's approach towards SIMI.

For Mulayam's narrow political end of keeping his Muslim votes intact and thwarting poachers like Imam Ahmed Bukhari and Mayawati, the government seems willing to compromise the lives of the people and the larger interest of the state.

Although the principal secretary, home, Satish Chandra Agarwal says the ban is being strictly enforced, a senior police official disputed his claim. Had the government been genuinely strict, the request to consider withdrawal of cases against SIMI members would have been neither made nor entertained, he asserted.

The state had initially refused to even support Centre's ban on the organisation on the plea that it has not carried out any terrorist activity in the state after 2005, although SIMI's hand in riots and blasts in Kanpur and the Shramjeevi Express were recent enough.

The government's latest move follows in spite of Supreme Court rejecting SIMI's petition against the ban imposed by the Central government.

The officer pointed out that had the government's stand on SIMI been firm, it would not have been possible for Amir to sneak into Kanpur on April 22, stay in hiding for two days and quietly surrender on the third day.

The CM is apparently ready to go to any extent to garner Muslim support as he finds his party on a slippery wicket. With the minister for Haj, Haji Yaqoob Qureshi, setting a deadline for him to do something for Muslims and Imam Ahmed Bukhari floating a party , Mulayam is facing trouble from within and outside.

With SIMI members active in Azamgarh, Mau, Sant Ravidasnagar, Shahjehanpur, Moradabad, Rampur, Bhadohi, Siddharthnagar, Gonda, Shravasti, Faizabad and Lucknow, Mulayam must be seeing sound political prospects in these constituencies once the banned outfit is won over.

It is being said again and again that the main reason for terrorism in India is demolition of babri mosque. I fail to understand the logic behind this.

The structure which was demolished was not a mosque, even as per the standards and norms laid down by Islam. To call it a mosque is the negation of Islamic law. So blaming the demolition of this structure for terror attacks on Indian soil is an attempt to justify (on the basis of religion) what can not be justified.

At the most it can be said that it was wrong to destroy this structure as it was under dispute in the court. That makes it a violation of law and it is under examination of the court. If there was no demolition, people who are indulging in terror attacks would have found some or the other reason to justify their in-human acts. Similar is the case with Gujrat riots.
